Columbia County Research and Genealogy

Looking for assistance with your research? We’re here to help. Submit your research request and let us do the digging.

Our library staff can help you with research on local genealogy and other cultural and historical topics relating to Columbia County. Research is conducted for each paid request, including those for which CCHS subsequently finds little or no information.

All research requests must be paid in advance. This includes up to 10 copies of research material and postage for response packages. Inquiries are answered in the order in which they are received. Please be patient with us—we have a small staff and there is often a 2–3-month backlog.

Please tell us as specifically as possible what information you are seeking and what you already know. This will help us answer your request more efficiently and avoid duplicating research you have already done.
